Rust PvE vs PvP: which server is right for you?

Rust is famous for raids and betrayals, but not everyone wants to lose a week of work overnight. That is why there are PvE and PvP servers. Here is how they differ, using our own two servers as the example: ForgeRust PvE and ForgeRust PvP.

Who PvE is for

PvE is for players who love building, farming, exploring and fighting NPCs, but do not enjoy losing everything to a group that logs on at 4am. It suits solo players, couples, friends with a few hours a week, and anyone who wants to build something big and keep it until wipe.

On a PvE server the danger comes from the world: NPCs, events, heli, Bradley and Raidable Bases. You still get the tension of Rust, without the stress of being offline raided.

Who PvP is for

PvP is classic Rust: every player you meet can be a friend or a threat, and every base can be raided. It is for players who want real fights, roaming, raiding and defending.

On our Rust PvP server with every blueprint unlocked you skip the research grind, so you can craft the gear you need from the first minute and get straight to the action.

What stays the same

Both ForgeRust servers have kits, a shop and trading, backpacks, homes and teleport to friends, events like the Armored Train and the Caravan, and a monthly wipe on the official force wipe. Both are hosted in Texas.

Quick pick

  • Want to build in peace and fight NPCs? Pick PvE.
  • Want to raid and be raided? Pick PvP.
  • Not sure? Start on PvE, learn the game, and try PvP when you feel ready.
