Rust servers with no BP wipe: how it works.

Searching for a Rust server with no BP wipe usually means one thing: you are done researching the same items every month. Here is what a blueprint wipe is, how it differs from a map wipe, and how a server with every blueprint unlocked plays.

What is a BP wipe?

In Rust you learn to craft items by researching them or using the tech tree. Those learned items are your blueprints (BPs). A BP wipe resets them, so after the wipe you have to learn everything again.

Map wipe vs BP wipe

  • Map wipe: the world resets. Bases, loot and items are gone and everyone starts fresh. This happens on every server at the monthly force wipe.
  • BP wipe: your learned blueprints reset too. Whether this happens is up to each server.

See the Rust wipe schedule for the next force wipe in your own time zone.

What "all blueprints unlocked" means

On a server with all blueprints unlocked you can craft every item from the moment you spawn, as long as you have the resources and the right workbench. There is nothing to research, so a BP wipe can never set you back.

Your first hour looks completely different: instead of hunting for scrap to research a gun, you farm, craft and go. Fights happen sooner, raids happen sooner, and the gear gap between new and old players is much smaller.

Pros and cons

  • Pro: no research grind, faster action, fair start for everyone.
  • Pro: great if you only have a few hours a week.
  • Con: less sense of progression than learning blueprints over a wipe.
